Lately belt buckles have been quite the craze. As a matter of fact, they have grown to be so popular, that people have started wearing just about anything you can imagine on a buckle, from cartoon characters, to comic book heroes, and even famous movie scenes get thrown on buckles. One of the things that has always remained constant about belt buckles is the fact that people all over the world recognize them as a part of culture and a heritage.
Buckles go way back into the 1700s, and in the past people would even carry secret notes in them. Today though for the most part, people just use them to conceal a lighter or some other substance I don’t want to really go into. But for the most part, people just wear them to make a fashion statement about who they are and what they represent. Another reason that people have been wearing more glamorous buckles lately is because a lot of musicians are wearing them. Especially are pop stars and rappers who think they look cool by having a massive belt buckle around their pants.
I for one don’t really care about who is wearing what, but I have seen some really cool buckles that I know geeks would love. Batman and Superman buckles are among them, but the classic Nintendo style buckle stops them all with a controller as the theme.
Other buckles I have found to be popular as well are skull ones. This is because bikers especially love skulls, and they are a great majority of those buying them. Also a lot of country and western folk, love to get buckles with Texas or Bull horns on them. The western belt buckles sell the most of all and always have. This is just a nice way to accent a pair of blue jeans I guess. Whatever your reason for wearing them, they are what you want them to be. Either something to bling out with, or just to show your friends a passion for something you enjoy.
